OFF++

5-ply, hide glue construction.Anigre-Basswood-Kiri-Basswood-Anigre. 7mm thick. Around 85g. Oversized offensive shape. This blade is so strange to me. I designed it to be ALL-/Def+ and it turned out to be the fastest all-wood blade I've ever made. Nice soft feel plus decent stiffness. Not bad for a hitter or a power-looper (it has a good trampoline effect). OFF+. $70.00 Shipped.

WBS Lobo

5-ply, hide glue construction. Walnut-Spruce-Obeche-Spruce-Walnut. 5.7mm. 83-88g. J.O.W. Shape. If you're familiar with the Yasaka YEO, then you probably have a good idea of how this might feel. Now add the vibrational qualities of hide glue and you've got and even better idea. NOTE: Slight chipping at the top of one face - Price Reduced. OFF. $60.00 shipped in the 48.

WBS León

Same as the previous blade but with a thickness of 6.3mm and a weight of 83-87g. J.O.W. Shape. This blade is a bit more suited to an all out looping style but it's still as stiff as one might imagine based on it's thickness. OFF -. $90.00 Shipped w/in the lower 48.

WBS León +

5-ply, hide glue construction. Cypress-Spruce-Obeche-Spruce-Cypress. 6.8mm thick. J.O.W. Shape. My scale is currently dead but I believe this blade was in the 85-91g range. It has nice touch and significant rigidity. It's a good cross between a hitting and looping blade. OFF. $90.00 shipped w/in the continental 48.

Temporary Sale!

Over the next week or so I will be posting blades that are for sale. They're coming from a batch of test blades that I made a little over a year ago. Nearly all of these have been constructed with the hide glue method and will be priced accordingly. Some have been played with and may have slight glue residue. Some have slight damage (which will be noted in their description and reflected in their pricing). I'm not sure whether or not this will be the last time I sell any blades but I sure hope not. I've given some thought to starting model production and hopefully some insight from these sales will inform that decision. *Note: For the most part there's only one of each of these and they either haven't been played for some time or have never been played, so like any blade (especially hide-glue blades), they'll need a little break in before they reach their full potential. Thanks, Ian. VIEW BLADES HERE - http://www.worzbeatsticks.blogspot.com Note: May I please add that all profit from these sales, (if they reach a minimum quota) will go towards purchasing new materials for both custom and model blades. So if you want to see or purchase a WBS custom blade in the future, please help me out and purchase one of these beat sticks.

Business Paused

For those of you who didn't get the word through other mediums, WBS is currently on hiatus. I've thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone and I hope to be in a position where I can offer regular orders again soon.

Strange New World

These are for Mr. Thomas up in West Virginia. Me and Thom are always working on s l o w i n g things down.
The idea behind these two blades is to couple very hard thin veneers with low-density balsa to make a slow blade that, when coupled with LP, will cause severe reversal and other pip-funk and take as much off the incoming ball as possible.

First off we have an oversized Defensive blade.

Palo Maria - Balsa - Balsa - Balsa - Palo Maria

9.2mm

62 Grams

Balsa Handle (A first for me... I'm biting on Neubauer again)

Then we have a real freaky blade.

Defensive Rotor C-Pen

Zebrano-WRC-Balsa-WRC-Jatoba

5 mm

Jolan Strikes Again!

This is another one for JC in France.

Klondike

8.7mm

96 Grams (Handle heavy, should be a nice match up with Tenergy)

Finally... A J-PEN!

This will be a trial blade and join the shakehand and two c-pens in a journey around the world. A very big thanks to MyTT member Anton Chigurh who sent me a retired j-pen to be used as a template.

Klondike Structure

I believe the weight is in the high 60's/low 70's (can't remember off the top of my head).

Thanks again Anton!

Jolan's Custom Balsa Blade

This is a custom for Jolan over in France. I believe this is the first one of my blades to find a permanent home in l'Hexagone. Bon Frappe!

Limba-Walnut-Balsa-Walnut-Limba

6.9mm thick

70 grams

Conic handle with White Limba, Wenge, Black Limba, and Bubinga.

I find the thing to be quite fetching.

P.S. Sorry for the Facebook-esque photo, no personal camera and no photographer this week.

Bad News Bear

I hate to do this, but I suppose I needed to sooner or later. I will now be requiring a $30.00 deposit on all custom blades. I can't afford to be burned anymore. And remember Guys & Gals, PAYPAL ONLY.

Another Defensive Blade...

I don't know why I prototype so many defensive blades, it's not even my prefered style! I guess I'd like to offer more options to the over-looked minority in table tennis. Dr. Neubauer does what he can for you cats, but he can only go so far with that hair-helmet weighing him down. I first started playing in a club full very eccentric long pips players, so perhaps it's a tribute to them in a way. Oh boy, I'm digressing....

Anyhow, this offering was quite pleasing to me.

Western Red Cedar-Willow-Willow-Willow-Western Red Cedar

94 Grams

6.8mm

Still too much flex for my liking, but if you like that extra kick for looping it's here. Great chopping and lobbing. Blocks weren't the best, but that's very much relative to style and flex. This ply set-up took a bit off the ball, but not so much you can't surprise your opponent.
